SIP & HUSTLE
It seems like I'm at a coffee shop practically everyday for one reason or another. I really enjoy working from them. Not only do I get energized from the caffeine I might consume but I get energized from the people around me; who are there to work on their businesses, education, etc or just to reunite with others. Here are two of my favorite places thus far; that have good drinks, work/hangout friendly and of course are IG worthy. Let me know which are your favorite coffee shops and what makes you go back to them?
Werewolf Coffee - 1765 N Elston Ave, Chicago, IL 60642
I came here for the glitter latte and loved everything else! From the cool cut out food truck to the record player with Sinatra records. The decor simple but purposeful. The staff was really helpful and friendly. They even have kombucha on tap! Well anyway on to that famous glitter latte. There was a beet one and a charcoal option. I was like what charcoal? I take charcoal for health reasons but never in my lattes but I was sold when they mentioned it had lavender. I was hesitant to take my first sip after watching those Simply Nail Logical and Buzz Feed videos on what the glitter might be. To my surprise it had no charcoal taste as what you would think charcoal would taste like. It was just a soothing taste of lavender and honey nicely married with milk. Not a bad latte to have...the lavender relaxes the body and the activated charcoal removes toxins. They do warn the charcoal can mess with you if you are taking medication.
Nighthawk Chicago - 4744 N Kimball Ave, Chicago, IL 60625
My best friend and I discovered this after a trip on the brown line. Upon walking into this place I was surprised it was completely different than other businesses in Albany Park. Its the perfect place to get some work done. Start with some coffee and tea and end with some Irish Coffee and a well balanced cocktail. From what I was told they had some of the creators from the Violet Hour help them create their drink menu. The best part is that they are half the price of the Violet Hour, in a nice neighborhood setting and there is always parking. I went there one Tuesday and they had a film professor talk about an old black and white movie and they provided popcorn. Since their opening a couple of years ago I’ve been there multiple times to work, on a date and just to hangout with friends and I haven’t been disappointed.
